WASHINGTON, N.C. () — Gov. Roy Cooper and NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources Sec. Reid Wilson were part of an event Thursday at Goose Creek State Park in Washington to mark Earth Day. 'State parks are a great place for people in North Carolina to explore, relax and spend time outside with family and friends,' said Cooper. 'As we celebrate Earth Day, let's remember our responsibility to preserve and protect the planet for our children, grandchildren and the generations to come.' 'Our state parks and trails provide places for families to connect with nature, which is so important for children to develop that lifelong love and respect for our natural world,' said Wilson.
