The city of Brevard has been designated as the recipient of a $21,412,044 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Nationally Significant Federal Lands and Tribal Projects (NSFLTP) for the Ecusta Trail pedestrian path planned to connect Hendersonville and Brevard. This is the second federal grant the project has received in as many weeks and brings the combined total of federal funding for the project to at least $45 million. The NSFLTP grant program provides funding for the construction or rehabilitation of nationally significant transportation infrastructure that connects to federal or tribal lands.
